Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections in 2022

The Election Commission has announced the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections (UP Elections 2022). Voting is to be held in 7 phases in Uttar Pradesh. Know from which date the nomination process will start for 403 seats in the Vidhan Sabha. On May 14, 2022, the term of the Legislative Assembly in Uttar Pradesh is going to end. Therefore, the process of forming the assembly and the new government has to be completed before May 14. There are total 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. The last election was held in 2017 and the BJP-led NDA returned to power winning 325 seats. Yogi Adityanath ji took oath as the Chief Minister on 19 March 2017.

The Election Commission has urged all the parties to give more emphasis on digital campaigning. The Election Commission will take further decision in view of the situation of Covid.

If we talk about the election dates, the first phase of polling in UP will be held on February 10. The second phase will be held on February 14, the third phase on February 22, the fourth phase on February 23, the fifth on February 27, the sixth on March 3 and the seventh phase on March 7. The election results will be out on March 10.

Like last time in UP, elections will start from West UP. Voting will be held for 58 assembly seats in the first phase and 64 in the last phase. The last phase will be in Purvanchal.

Second stage

Notification will be on 21st January
28 January will be the last date nomination
Voting will be held on February 14

Third stage

Notification will be on 25th January
February 1st will be the last date nomination
Voting will be held on February 20

Fourth stage

Notification will be on 27th January
February 3 will be the last date nomination
Voting will be held on February 23

Fifth stage

Notification will be on 1st February
February 8 will be the last date nomination
Voting will be held on February 27

Sixth stage

Notification will be on 3rd February
February 11 will be the last date nomination
Voting will be held on March 3

Seventh stage

Notification will be on February 10
17th February last date will be nomination
Voting will be held on 7th March

Company of security forces will reach Uttar Pradesh

In order to conduct the elections in a fair and peaceful manner, 150 companies of central forces will come to Uttar Pradesh on January 10. In 150 forces, 50 companies are of CRPF, 30 companies are of BSF, 30 companies are of SSB, 20 companies are of CISF and 20 companies are of ITBP. The companies of these forces have been allocated in 75 districts and three commissionerates on the basis of sensitivity and requirement.

Which districts got how much security

The maximum four companies of central forces have been given to Prayagraj. This is followed by Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Pratapgarh, Bareilly, Moradabad, Mainpuri, Ghaziabad, Firozabad, Etah, Fatehpur, Shahjahanpur, Rampur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Badaun, Basti, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Bahraich, Kannauj, Jhansi, Hardoi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Noida Commissionerate, Chandauli, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Mau, Bulandshahr, Barabanki, Etawah, Bijnor have been given two companies of CRPF, while the rest of the districts have been given one company each.
