Death Toll in Turkey-Syria Earthquake Crosses 15,000
The earthquake in Turkey-Syria has shaken the roots of both the countries. Rescue teams are working day and night to rescue people trapped under the debris. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited some of the most affected areas in southern Turkey and acknowledged shortcomings in his government’s work.
Rescuers are racing against time to save more lives amid bitter cold in Turkey and Syria. Yesterday on Wednesday, the death toll was 12,391 and 62,914 people were injured. But as time is progressing, their number is also increasing.
The shocking thing is that till Wednesday the death toll from this devastating earthquake in both the countries was 12,391 and today it has increased to 15,383.
It is being told that the hope of finding survivors is slowly disappearing. Residents in southeastern Turkey and northwestern Syria are engaged in search and rescue efforts.
