The town, to the northeast, Mockdok Dimpep Valley View Point, overlooks lush green valleys. The southern Khasi and Jaintia hills around Cherrapunji are moist and warm and a species of Indian rubber tree is found on these hills.

It is situated at a height of mountains, about 56 km from Shillong. Cherrapunji is also known as Sohra and the rocks of Cherrapunji offer a panoramic view of the plains of Bangladesh. The site is famous for Nohkalikai Falls, Double Decker Living Root Bridge, and Mawsmai Cave.

Mausinram

Masinram is a city located in Meghalaya, whose name is recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as the wettest place in the world. It is world famous for its natural beauty and excessive rainfall. Cherrapunji and Masinram in the state of Meghalaya receive the highest rainfall.

Masinram is located at a distance of 65 kms from Shillong. It is said that there is a lot of moisture here due to the Bay of Bengal and this moisture is a condensed area due to the Khasi hills with an altitude of 1491 meters.

Living Root Bridge

There are many wonderful bridges present in the state of Meghalaya, which is famous as the living root bridge. These amazing bridges have been built from the roots of living trees by the local tribes in the southern part of Meghalaya and are present in many areas of Meghalaya.

The people living here say that the strong roots of the rubber tree used to grow and hang in the village, due to which people used to suffer a lot. In such a situation, people fixed these roots and gave them the shape of a bridge, but no one had imagined that after about 15 years this bridge would become the one to bear the weight of the people. This bridge is about 300 to 400 years old.

Dawki or Umngot River

Dawki’s lake and Umngot river are very popular in the country and abroad, because of the crystal clear water, which is as clear as glass. It is said that this river changes its color at the border i.e. blue across India and light blue in Bangladesh.

Most of the people come here for boating, the main reason for this is that they can see the world inside the river with their own eyes, which is very beautiful and charming.

Nongpoh

Nongpoh is the administrative center of Ri-Bhoi district in the Indian state of Meghalaya and is a small town located in the north of the East Khasi Hills, which is famous for its lush green trees, calm environment and pleasant climate, hence it is famous for Meghalaya. One of the places. The market here is crowded throughout the day because different types of Khasi dishes are available here at very cheap prices.

Laitlum Canyon

This place is especially famous for trekking. Letalm Canyon is one of the most famous treks in the entire North East of Meghalaya.
